I definitely don't think you're a fanboy; you like the Mustang and want it to do better than the SS, but you're not going to whine and make excuses, which is far from fanboy in my books.
The reason same day testing matters is simply because the conditions during one day may result in better times.
I think posts like this are more what some of the gloating from C5 members is coming from:

CURRENTLY it doesn't look like this is the case, but maybe the more magazine reviews come out we'll know better.
