My department has not been issued any order to drop the "cushion". Then again, we don't have to honor the "cushion" either. We are empowered to start writing at whatever speed we want to over the limit.

Me? In town I'll give you 10, unless in a heavy residential area, then you get 7. Interstate depends on flow of traffic. If it's all moving fast, I'll allow more, if it is going slow, I allow less. No less then 10 however. No more then 15. Also doesn't mean you are always getting a ticket either.

Revenue? Our department gets $42 out of every $75 ticket. If the ticket is more then $75, we get our $42 and whatever is over the $75, if my understanding of that is correct.

Overtime? If you aren't scheduled during court hours, yes. if your shift falls during your scheduled court appearence, no. We have to go to all court appearences, no option otehr then illness, family emergency type stuff. I've been called to testify on 4 traffic only citations out of a few thousand I've written. The defendant only showed up once. So I'm 4-0, but 3 by default. Go figure, lol.

I won't get into the Radar thing, but to say it is indeed tested at every stop. Calibrated yearly, and IMHO, can be wrong. If was humans who built it, correct? We are perfect, lol.
