Yes they absolutely can and do!! You have to have some control over the lighting, the darker the better. OR have a screen that filters ambient light combined with a projector with high light output (lumens) Also the higher the contrast ratio the better. This allows deeper black levels which equates to more picture detail. With today's prices 1080p is a must (although 720p is still impressive) when considering these screen sizes (mine is 92" in 16x9 and 120" in cinescope)...most people after experiencing a good projector set up usually find a way to get it into their homes, it's definitely a "gotta havit" experience!!
