Rules are Rules. Break them, and risk being fired.
According to KarlChev, he says he was told by his GM rep to "let our [his] customers know". If that is really true, then he was made a scapegoat. Although, I am sure we will only be hearing his side of the story....disgruntled ex-employee, blah, blah, blah...
While I feel for KarlChevy, GM has every right to take action when one of their rules is broken.
I know here in Maryland, we are an "At Will" State. Which means an employer does not need a reason to fire someone. Perhaps it is that way in KarlChev's State - I don't know.
