We haven't even begun to talk about the impacts of serving on board ships... Introducing women into Navy ships was a catastrophe... NOT because they are Women... But because logistically they must be given privacy... I agree. Men are comfortable serving with Gay men as long as they are "protected" from being sexually approached by a gay man. Meaning you can be gay but you can't legally approach me as a Gay man looking for any kind of inappropriate relationship.

In my opinion Don't as Don't tell is brilliant. it allows for Men/Women to feel protected from homosexual advances while allowing homosexuals to serve and still be gay in their personal lives... I don't see what the problem is.

But if you allow them to be openly Gay... Then the same rules should be appied to the segregation of men and women as Gay women and gay men. So on board ship we'd need to have 4 different kinds of berthings... Gay women, Gay men, Straight women, Straight men..... OOOPs wait that doesn't work either.... Cus if we put all the homosexuals together in their own berthings.... That doesn't work does it... let me see... All gay men can sleep shower and "live" together... Nope... That would lead to sex in the floating city... Not becasue Gays are more sexually active, but because they are human and sexual urges are a part of being human... That's why women and men are separated in the first place isn't it....

So who's right is the most important... Should Homosexuals be allowed their sexual preferences on board ships while straight service members must contain themselves???

Well that's not fair either is it....

There is no easy answer. I'm not for or against Gays in the military. The bottom line is Don't ask don't tell is the best way to handle it.

The military is tough enough without having to endure sexual/homosexual stress. Most of them just want to get throught the day so they can get home safe and sound. Sexual harrassment is a strict policy for a reason. And please don't try and say that we can control our sexual urges... Very Very few people can actually do that...

I say leave it alone... DADT works. just fine.
