I hate to disagree with you on this point. if your commander said wash my personal car would you? I wouldn't. HELL no I wouldn't. I'd be respectful torwards him/her and tell them I've got to take care of other business. you forget there are lawful and unlawful orders and I see this as an unlawful order. there is no rule in their bylaws/Covenants that says no flag poles. it was a ruling during a meeting that said don't do it.
I'm on his side no matter what. HOA's are there to protect the community. not press their own agenda. there is nothing wrong with a flag pole to fly the american flag. and a HOA should not have the power to dictate other wise.
