When I was about 18, I had the pleasure of passing through a taxidermy shop out in Montana. The guy specialized in bears, from rugs on up.
He had an old pickle jar sitting in the front of the store. It was full of flattened 12 guage slugs the guy had pulled outta bear carcasses. These were not the rounds that had downed the animal either, they were instances where the bear had been shot with a 12 guage slug and lived on for quite some time.
Somebody tell me again how a frangible round or a shotshell is the way to go...
