and ditto all of this for the GT-R... if Nissan or Chevy wanted to run a stripped down club racer around the track, they'd get times like that, too.

I think it would be a hit: adj aerodynamics, light weight, and sticky tires, all with less option and a price that isn't much more because of the lack of stuff in the car (stereo, AC, sound deadening material)...
