Guess what. I get equally as sick when I visit Big 12 land and their fans are the SAME WAY. They believe their conference is. The same way you do. ALL of them. So much so that they think EVERYONE does. Got news for you. I lived in Seattle for 6 years. They believe theirs is too. It has become fashionable for sportscasters to say it when talking about the SEC. It will pass. Just like the term "Coming off a loss". I remember me and my brother used to watch all of the pre-game shows and we would count the times someone would say that.

Problem is lately the SEC has had more years at being the best conference than others but they aren't the best every year.* It's just a fad for the media. And not ALL media buys it. Just a lot.

But I digress. And ask another question.

IF the SEC is the best every year, (debateable) Why do you suppose it is? Just curious.







*(winning the NC doesn't make you the best conference, just ask USC)

The SEC isn't the best conference in football because every team is amazing, its the best because the South East region produces the best talent, which makes for the best recruiting, which gives the SEC Powerhouses advantages on their roster. I know you think recruiting is boring, but can you think of a state that harbor's 3 program's more successful than Florida, Miami and Florida State? All three have dominated college football at some point in time... and It's not because they get their recruits from Texas...(yes I know FSU and UM are in the ACC, im talking about the region)

The easy access to hometown recruits keeps the SEC going strong, and lets be honest, if your a big time recruit why wouldn't you go to one of the SEC powerhouses? If you win out your a shoe in for the championship. Recently the SEC has separated itself from the competition, like I cited before 4 Championship's in 6 years with one undefeated team left without a shot. The best recruits bring in the best coaches who build the best programs which makes for the most competitive conference.
