I want to put Long Tube headers on (jet hot coated) and maybe no CATs (less heat since we are in SC, and less cost of exhaust plumbing?).
most threads say Longtubes are zero gain over stock manifolds until over ZL1 power levels, so not really worth it in my case as a DD & weekend fun car. just something I want.
ZL1 guys established in another thread ( https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=637088) quality headers can be zero maintenance, and last forever. but they can be LOUD.
how loud would Long tubes be with no CAT, with the stock Suitcase and the NPP shut, in STEALTH mode.
we have a small one car garage, and a remote start is LOUD with the NPP open, and sometimes it smells bad if you leave it idling too long. so even if I remote start it, I have to open the garage door (have a remote inside house) and then prop open the back door, to keep the smell out of the house.
will the remote start stench get worse without cats?
I read some guys are running E85 to minimize Stinky Starts.
in other words, STEALTH mode as a daily driver,
NPP be "automatic" for fun driving,
NPP in "track" mode when being an "annoying butthole"
(my wife's assessment of me making the pipes rattle)

I have Jet Hot coated Kooks long tube headers WITH primary (green) cats into the stock NPP muffler, and cold starts in the garage are
freaking loud. WIth no cats, they will literally rock your house, and you will always be "that guy" even if your county doesn't prohibit catless rides.
Engine sound in the interior is actually super pleasant with my setup, and WOT pulls sound appropriately brutal, especially with the bam-bam fuel cut shifts on the A8.
Also, these headers are noisier (tickier) and intensify the brutal midrange "whip" rasp a bit, just so you know what to expect. A properly designed axleback such as the Borla S-Type can take that edge off, or maybe a pair of resonators, too.
Ethanol does help a lot with the stink (although I love the smell of gas, heh, but it may not be for everyone).
