Just as an FYI, I’ve always used ARP Fasteners. I went to college with the owners daughter who was kind enough to give me a private tour of their facility back in ‘88. Very nice people. So this has nothing to do with that. I merely stated that I would not poo poo the factory torque to yield fasteners. They were designed that way for a reason. Like I also stated given an application where longevity is not the main concern and the ability to reuse a fastener takes precedent they are likely a good solution. Most guys here are about making power vs. driving 300k miles. If anyone gets that it’s me.
Anyway, in retrospect I probably should have just messaged him.
