As to your temp question:
I think it's not abnormal. The SS has so many coolers for the track that the coolant temp doesn't get that hot just driving around town or highway at low RPM. Mine doesn't get north of 205-210 until I'm on the track with the RPM averaging 4000+ and the oil temp at 260+. Oil doesn't go above 200F until the RPM is sustained near 2000 (driving at 50-55 mph in 5th gear because it's still not quite fast enough for 6th.
