So things have been very quiet for me on the Camaro front as the wife wanted us to sell our beautiful home in Massachusetts and move somewhere with more land and privacy. So effective the end of January, we are now proud homeowners in New Hampshire! With 7 1/2 acres and a near 1/4 mile long driveway, we’ve got privacy in spades. Plus, NH no longer requires automotive inspections… huge bonus!
Unfortunately although the garage is nearly the same square footage as my previous 3 car garage, it’s going to be a challenge to get 3 cars in it so I’ll probably buy a lift eventually so that I can stack the Camaro and Mustang (and therefore not leave the AMG outside). In the meantime, this garage needs to be made great again! Floor is gross, walls & paint are dirty and smudged, garage door side seals are faded and breaking away, utility sink doesn’t work, cheap crap wire rack shelves, cabinets are crap, half the lights don’t work, the outdoor sillcock (plumber speak for hose faucet) is junk, etc. And although it has radiant heat in the slab, there’s no dedicated garage thermostat or zoning, so it’s borderline freezing in there. So that’s getting fixed this spring for sure. Oh, and no A/C either. No bueno!
So today I had one of my plumbers over. We demolished the old storage cabinets and utility sink, and took out the old sillcock. We (they lol) installed a new utility sink and new faucet along with new flex connections and drainage so now that’s fixed. The outdoor sillcock was replaced with a new frost-free one and an access panel cut in so that future replacements will be much easier. I then had my carpenter over and he installed all new garage door side seals. Three small steps down, many more to go…!
Here’s a “before” pic… I promise you this garage will be dramatically different before this summer is over.
