All great comments.
NG329 Question:
Did Jannetty express any concerns about the solid bushing in the motor mounts triggering the knock sensors due to the added NVH. I was thinking of getting them over the poly but with other car makes solid motor mounts were found to be a problem. Fortunately with the BMR mounts changing bushings is real simple so if they get trashed it's a quick job. I'm planning on tracking mine pretty regularly so I should expect the same. Interested is seeing those pictures. Also how long did you have the poly bushings installed.
Some more food for thought.
I chose not to use header studs but bought some new one time use OEM bolts since they're self aligning, are flanged, have the and have threadlocker already on them. Someone else posted that this is what another header manufacturer recommended using so I went this route.
Mr. Gasket MLS # 4808G header gaskets come slotted at each end so you install just the 2 end bolts leaving a space between the header and head and drop the gasket into place. Put the rest of the bolts in and torque to spec. I've used them a few times in the past and they work really well.
I just got the ARH 2" long tube headers installed and discovered that with the BMR mounts the drivers side went right in.
But on the pass side I had first support the motor and lift it slightly so I could loosen up the 4 mounting bolts holding the BMR mount to the block and then remove the 2 bolts and big nut on the bottom to remove the bottom plate altogether. This allowed me to pivot the mount just enough to get the header in place. Once the header was up in the general area I used a long extension with a swivel to tighten the 4 bolts, reinstalled the plate 2 bolts and big nut, lowered the motor back down, then finished installing the header.
The ARH headers fit perfectly and don't touch anywhere, Plugs and wires fit nice as well.
Installing their long system was another story altogether I had to cut down the 2 front catless connecting pipes and the x-pipe down both about an inch to get it all to line up and go together.
Nothing was a big deal just took a lot longer than I expected. But that's why I did it all with snow on the ground, so I could take my time and figure it out.
