thanks for the info & feedback on the weight.

FWIW, the best deal I ever got, automotive wise, was a buddy who ran Open Track, gave me his tires when they were "wore"

I bought a set of his used rims, put his used tires on the rims, and used them for SCCA cone racing, it was GREAT.

I was able to drive aggressively & burn up tires (the 4th Gen OEM alignment has significant toe-in to create stability in non-experienced drivers, which WEARS out front tires in SCCA) with abandon, and it really gave me alot more drip than street tires would have.

the wife even got into SCCA, since she was not burning up her street tires. it was a win-win

so if you can find an SCCA person to buy your tires which are too worn for Open Track, but still good enough for Cone Racing, that would be the ticket.
