Any known low battery issues and fixes? I was investigating an odd sound that may have been related to the alternator and after getting my son to help (his 22 yr old ears are better than my 75 yr old ears) we stopped and restarted the engine several times. Then the starter wouldn't turn over and I got the low battery warning, tried jump starting, starter wouldn't turn over and got some smoke from the passenger side. I let everything cool down and turned on the ignition switch and got a message "low battery, start car". Of course that didn't work, but no at least no smoke (disconnected the jumper cables). Can I get some trouble shooting advice and will the battery fit through the little window in the trunk liner?
