So sorry for your loss. My 2021 Camaro ZL1 was almost stolen from a secured parking garage back in October of this year in downtown LA. Luckily when I got my car I had IGLA and Compustar T-13 installed and they could not get the car started. Always groups of 3 - 4.
They don't need a signal to your key fob, to make a key for the vehicle. They make the key through the OBD-II port. If they got your key fob signal, they wouldn't need to break the window.
What is weird though is that even though I have IGLA and the OBD-II port is supposed to be locked, they were still able to get the ignition fully on without a key.
I for sure agree with a class action at this point because we will almost always need to get our windows replaced even if they don't steal our cars and like OP said, this can happen anywhere as these people are learning how to take remote start cars just as fast as these scam marketers are selling their get rich quick classes.
