I hear you. Other people might want to gamble, but I'm dang glad I didn't with the Camaro.
My first vehicle at 15 years old was a '69 Mustang with a straight six, that after working at Autozone a couple of years I dropped a 302 crate motor in and got all the high performance parts at a nice discount. It was so easy working on those old muscle cars. Times have definitely changed. Gas mileage is better, though, with all the newer tech. That's one plus with all the complexity. I was lucky to get 8 mpg.
