Yeah, getting loved to death unfortunately. Phoenix metro has become a bit like LA but every big city area has its drawbacks. Having said that I still think this is the best region to live in especially if you're an automotive enthusiast. If you are not afraid of a bit of rain you
could theoretically drive your hobby car every day of the year. I spend a considerable amount of time at my Dad's in N. Illinois so I am fully aware of the type of climate you are battling and the need to relocate. I've only driven through Oro Valley and it seems very nice. The cool thing about that location is there are 2 drag strips and 4 roadracing facilities fairly close by. I'd say spend some vacation time in the areas you're contemplating so you don't end up with "relocation remorse".
