Interesting. That's why they say different strokes for different folks. There are two things that would keep me from buying any S197 or S550/650
except for Shelby / Mach I / Dark Horse. Those things are seating position and MT82. The MT82 could be worked around by just getting the 10-speed, but the seating position can't be changed.
One week I had two Mustang press cars back to back. First was a Bullitt. Second was a GT350. I couldn't wait to give back the keys to the Bullitt. Seating position was way too high and accentuated the cars suspect handling. It felt like sitting on top of the car. If you tossed the car around,
it tossed
you twice as hard. And the MT82 had sloppy, long throws with almost no detent feel. Hated that transmission. The Shelby had a lower seating position and Recaro's that hugged you tight. And the Tremec was TIGHT!. Every shift was "Snick! Snick! Snick! I begged for more time with that car. Didn't get it.
