Yeah I'm not getting it either..
Visibility between the 4th and the 6th gen isn't that drastic. The rear window of my 4th gen TA was horrible to see out of, it cuts off the top and the bottom of your view. When you factor in the 6th gen has a backup camera, it's way easier to back up with the 6th gen. The higher side windows does make it slightly harder to see out the side/rear 3/4 I suppose, but the situation isn't drastically improved when hopping in the 4th gen.
Storage, the 6th gen has more of it, hands down. The smaller trunk opening could be a pain, sure, but the actual space in there is pretty large. In the 4th gen, back seats were just as useless, and while it has a hatch, you had one small deep well in the back (which you lost if you took the T-Tops off). There was a tiny space between the well and the rear seat which was useless for basically anything, and then you had the rear seats. You can fit larger more awkward things in the 4th gen because of the hatch. I took home a 6' step ladder in it which I know I couldn't do in the 6th gen. If I had to go on a trip and pack a bunch of stuff though, 6th gen hands down is better.
Yes you can put a drink in the door pocket of a 4th gen, but you lost the cup holder in the center console (I will laugh in your face if you try to tell me the 1/2" deep "cup holder" is usable for anything but a bit of change).
