The base V6 cars was a solid car for kids that wanted a sporty car but parents didn't want the power of the V8 for young driver. That made up a good margin of car sales for years. Then GM made the car a huge rolling blind spot that you can't see out of, making it unsafe for younger drivers. Another is a complete lack of support from Chevrolet in terms of promoting the car. In the world of social media people like to see innovation and new. Without seeing it, many didn't even know how cool the platform was.
