You can see the shift from 2nd to 3rd in the graph, its definitely longer than 3rd to 4th but up right up is more complex than straight down is. I wouldn't think no lift shifting is going to cause more loss of momentum. The loss of momentum is from the fact that you have to shift the gear in general.
What rpm are you shifting at?
