Making it electric wouldn't be the problem. Making it a us/western oem electric would be. And most of that issue is shared with gas powered as well. It'll have overpriced electronics that have no aftermarket by design, everything will be subscription based. It'll be built like a tank for safety. It'll be insanely high performance. And it will be tracked with unstoppable telemetry where that info will be sold to partners at your detriment.
So you'll spend 50+ thousand on a car you dont really own because you have to subscribe for every feature you paid for and and can't replace anything with something from a third party.
Everything about new cars that i dont like have nothing to do with if it's ev or not. It's the lack of choice we have where like 3 companies exist and only want to make cars that have the highest profit margins or the most recurring revenue.
I'm glad i dont need a new car. My 2016 is perfectly fine. But you couldn't pay me to buy anything new that required a subscription for basic connected features i get thru my phone with android auto or carplay or included so many sensors and junk where you are more likely to get hit that insurance would make it stupid to own.
i like the rendering there for the hypothetical new cadillac. But i do not have any optimism that it wont be an enshitified - us made - anti-consumer laden mess that you'll have to pay out your eyes for the privilege of also having microtransactions and ads to use.
