It would have been cheaper to get a 1LE, yes, but the seat was an out of the box deal breaker for me and the availability of allocation wasn't guaranteed either, if was willing to swap seats.
I bought some 1LE wheels when I took delivery and never looked back.

I agree on the seats. I daily drove a 2017 1LE for two years. Recaros are NOT comfy and I'm average height/weight.
