Like the title says... I Prototyped the AWE SwitchPath Axle-Back Exhaust system on my ZLE so I could have a true 3" ID (Inside Diameter) pipe, unrestricted from the ARH headers to the tips, no cats. The NPP Muffler was good for being quiet but the tin sound just had to go... along with the restriction of flow.
I have seen dozens of ZLEs at tracks and many with different brands of axle-back systems, but nothing on the market has that deep 2-Chamber Flowmaster sound anymore. Diving deeper into the NPP Valve systems, the AWE setups use a stronger Escalade-V 3" Spring Valve similar to the Hellcat and Mercedes AMG valves and everything on the market for the 6th-Gen uses the smaller un-sprung valves to operate the OEM NPP Actuators.
So now you have the back-story on this system... I reached out to AWE and came to an agreement to invest my time & money to prototype the system, cherry-picking their current parts to build the system on my car. If there is enough interest in building this setup, they will kit the system for us.
I have not tracked the car since completing the install as there is too much going on at the shop, but I shot some clips on the road trip to Hendrick Motorsports in Charlotte from Darlington, SC as well as a cold start in the video below.
If you like what you hear, leave a comment in the video as I have shared the analytics with AWE Tuning as I have never heard a ZLE sound as amazing as this one.
