I made it out to Hallett for the first time this summer! They ran it CW at the end of Sunday which I enjoyed; hopefully I can make it back there to do a full day/weekend CW another year. Bits of gravel from the recently repaved surface were getting pulled up throughout the weekend and they didn't have time to clean them all off of the track so I won't post my slow CW lap...others have posted faster videos on YouTube on a clean track. It was very tricky to even stay on track in some corners while driving through that stuff. It looks like they repaved the corners again since my visit based on carguy55's recent video...hopefully that fixed the issue.
Track = Hallett CCW
Time = 1:25.93
Year/Model/Trim/Trans = 2017 1SS 1LE M6
Date = 6/8/25
Tires = OE SC3
Mods = Estimated 450whp on E85 with flex fuel sensor & tune, BBK CAI, 95mm TB, GPI ported LT2 intake, Track alignment, SPL Rear Toe Links + Eccentric Lockout, BMR BK063 Diff Lockout, FEA front lower front control arms, 2021 SS 1LE EBCM, SRF, GM track brake cooling kit
Note: I haven't dynoed it yet but I plan to in the future. Engine internals, headers, cats, and exhaust remain stock.
The Garmin Catalyst I borrowed for the weekend had my optimal lap time as 1:25.30 at the end.
Be careful to stay out of the grass at the turn 8 apex. The corner entry is blind (except for the top of a tall cone they put at the apex) so that's easier said than done. I went a little off track there on one lap and slightly bent both passenger side OEM wheels; thankfully they were not bad so I could still drive on them and they were able to be quickly (but not cheaply) straightened by a local wheel repair place after I got home.
Reminder to myself and others: downshifting while turning is risky even with auto rev match. I had a big moment in turn 1 because of that:

I also got to drive Eagles Canyon 2.7 CW (not the usual direction) on my way back from Hallett which was great (except for it being 90+ degrees and sunny)! I haven't edited/uploaded that video yet but it was only 1 day and I didn't quite achieve what the car is capable of but the stock SC3 tires were overheating quickly in the heat so I didn't have many chances. Hopefully I can drive that track direction again too to get faster...I might actually prefer ECR CW instead of CCW!
