Thanks, Rob.
I've built a
lot of engines over the years, mostly JDM (1j/2j/1uz,VG30,6g, etc), formula 3 and old BBC. They all have their quirks full of unique do's and don'ts. Trying to be methodical with this reassembly, really want the reliability to be on par with the performance. We need an LTx bible that houses all of the findings/shortcomings and improvments/reccomendations all in one place. Tons of good information on this forum, and some very bright people here. But it's still quite an ordeal to find answers to things that I would think be commonly posted.
Planning to knock out the rest over the next two days.
- JMS fuelmax GMP2
- Headers and exhaust back together
- DLG-1 widebands
- 95mm LT5 TB (need to look and see if the adapter plate from JRE should be opened up to match eddit inlet)
- set the eddie in place and make final connections..
- reassemble front end
Question for you guys: I was hoping to pressure test the new fuel system prior to setting the blower in place, for obvious reasons. Obviously understanding that the engine needs to rotate for the HPFP to build..
Is there a procedure for this? or does everybody just bolt it all together and prey while clutching their fire extinguisher?
I contemplated pressurizing the high side with helium from a K bottle and borrowing a mass spectrometer/sniffer from work. Probably overkill...
