Well after initially being told that this was an authorized repair, the service manager looked at my picture and ordered the correct manifold stud. I dropped the car back off this Monday morning (8/4/25), for them to accomplish this repair. While waiting for my loaner to be ready, I asked the service advisor what they would do if the threads in the manifold flange were damaged. He said that the stud would have new threads. After trying to explain that I meant the threads in the manifold, I gave up and went on my way.
Tuesday afternoon rolled around and I had not heard from them, so I called. The service advisor told me that we were waiting on parts. I asked what part since they had nine days to order and receive the stud. He said they are waiting for an exhaust manifold.
I wasn't surprised, I was sure they had damaged the thread drilling out the original stud.
This is ridiculous, if the first tech had just taken their time and used heat on the studs the first time, this saga would be long over.
