It’s just stuff. What that matters is your time with your daughter.

A few years ago, my oldest was playing outside, in the snow. He noticed my ‘95 Roadmaster was covered in ice and wanted to help. He went to the shed and got a dethatching rake. He then used the rake to wack the ice. I heard it, from around the house. When I came around the corner it was just in time to see he was holding the tip of the handle and had the rake at full extension, over his head. Before I could say anything, he powered slammed the head of the rake into the windshield, then, drug it down the hood and driver’s side fender. I started yelling for him to stop. He was so proud of himself. He said something to the effect of, “Look, dad! I’ve been working hard to get your car ready.” It took all I had to not completely lose my shit. He wasn’t being malicious. He saw a problem and was working a solution. It’s not the solution I was hoping for, but it was nice of him to take it upon himself to help.

Shockingly, the damage was minor. Just some paint transfer from the yellow rake handle onto the fender.
