I have been considering doing the 15" conversion on a '16 2SS. While I know the conversion isn't considered worth it unless you are making big power, since I don't exactly know my end-goal power levels, I am considering it since I am starting from scratch. I put together a list based on the YT video by
SLOW.VERT and this thread:
Diy 15” conversion.
- 2016 ATS Calipers and Brackets Left - 13584520 - ~$84
- 2016 ATS Calipers and Brackets Right - 13584520 - ~$93
- Brake Pads - Z26-1659 - ~$74
- 5th Gen Camaro Rotors (12.4" Dia.) x2 - 18A2694SD - ~$138
- Banjo Bolt & Washer x2 - H9458-2 - ~$$6
- Button Head Bolt (M12x1.75 70mm) x2 - 92095A446 - ~$12
- Toe Rods - SMG-SMGCRTOECAM6 - ~$270
Total cost around $680 with that configuration, which is pushing the cost of the SMG kit at $899 (I think). However, I could probably save some money with reman/non-ACD calipers and different rotors (- ~$150). I am also unsure about the SMG toe rods, looking at BMR will add another $100.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Note: this is coming from a fresh start, no 15" or 17" wheels currently owned, so everything is still TBD.
