This right here answers your question.

Don't waste your time with the LT2 on a stock TB 87mm < 95mm < 103mm

Just wait for the MSD and 103mm otherise you are just wasting time and not gaining power.

MSD + 103 + 220 cam will shine the highest power gains outside of a high-ram setup.

But also porting the heads as Grey said will also do a lot.

Figure MSD + 103 + 220 Cam + Porting heads can increase HP by as much as 100+ with proper tuning. Just the cam and heads alone can be upwards of 90hp gain. the MSD + 103 maybe another 20-30ish.

BTR 220's are underrated compared to most cams, they can handle a supercharger upgrade if you wanted to. Obviously with a SC you'll gain more with stage 2, 3, and 4 cams, but drivability can change pretty significantly then. But if you are on a stock torque converter like I am 220 is pretty much the limit for cams, You'd have to upgrade your torque converter to go with a bigger cam.
