I can tell it to anyone, but then again you could say a tire blowout is a safety issue too but they aren't recalling cars to replace them with solid rubber tires. These one-off scenarios are outliers and not the norm. It's not a safety issue as deemed by GM and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Even if the oil pump failed, the engine would not seize immediately, the driver would have had to ignore the low oil pressure indicator or would have been hot dogging the Hell out of it at high rpm when it happened. You likely don't know all the facts behind that story and people aren't very honest with these stories when they're pissed about it.
