I am curious on what gains are left on the table by *not* porting the inlet and just using a 95mm to 87mm adapter. You still get a jump in cross sectional gain jumping from a 87mm TB to a 95mm TB, even if the snout is 87mm. At minimum throttle response will be much improved.

Yes, they do make a straight 95 to 95 TB adaptor but I chose not to elongate the TB holes. I thought the ported 87 to 95 mm adaptor would create a smoother taper. I can confirm that the results are undeniably positive. Before making my decision, I too was conflicted as to which way to go, but my tuner reassured me, as he has tuned the very same setup many times. In the end, I'm glad I took his advice.
Throttle body response is so much better. The car pulls much better bottom to top. The porting has everything to do with it
