I just did the wiring harness relocation on my SS that's running 1LE spec wheels and tires, with the 305's in the back.

On a handful of occasions I felt a very brief, hard bump when taking a right hand corner "spiritedly". I thought it might be something in my trunk, but after reading about this on the forum, I looked at the felt liner in the LR wheel well and found that there had been some rubbing.

You definitely don't want that harness getting crushed. But, if you don't drive the car too hard and don't feel anything, maybe you don't need to worry about it.
