The Cup 2 and R888R are both grippy tires, but they’re built a bit different. The Cup 2 is more balanced—it has great dry grip, feels stable in corners, and is decent for street use if you don’t mind noise and stiffness. It even handles light rain better than most tires in the category.
The R888R is much more aggressive—crazy warm grip, especially for straight-line pulls or track days—but it’s loud, rides rough, wears faster, and is basically useless in the rain.
Compared to the Cup 2 and R888R, the NT555R2 rear with NT555G2 front setup is more of a straight-line drag-oriented combo
