You only need a trunk tank if you’re running 93 octane (and perhaps an Interchiller). You don’t need either if you’re running E85. E needs heat to vaporize properly and will make more power than a trunk tank..by a fair bit.
If you do decide to run a trunk tank, you either need to replace the weak factory pump with something like a CWA150, or add another factory pump to move the water from the back of the car to the front (so you’d run both pumps in the case).
