And these days the "guests" on this forum have been around 55,000 at any given time (some times it drops dramatically, but I think the server resets itself or the admin keeps rebooting the server because he is getting database error messages even though I have provided him the information to resolve this issue), some of these "bots" can hit the same thread thousands of times... Views on a "public" forum mean
absolutely nothing... Look how many members are online right now (here it is,
right now, "30", yes just "thirty members" are actually online right now, there is absolutely no way "members' viewed that thread over 18,000 times, not even 1,800 times... 500 times? maybe (50 members checking in 10 times)... This site is so over run with bots and the admin doesn't care, he wants "ad impressions" so he can cash his check... THIS is exactly why the forum I have run for the past 19 years have absolutely 0 paid advertisements, is NOT viewable to the "public" (or "Bots") and is completely "Member Supported", members pay a very nominal annual fee ($24.95/yr), the conversations are completely out of the public view, there are exactly 0 "Bot" accounts and the site actually loads, every day, every time any member tries to access it and it loads fast and runs smooth... No flashing ads, no bots, no spam posts, just a forum that works... This site is more interested in advertising revenue than in providing its vast membership base a platform to share information... The admin doesn't give a rat's ass about 6th Gen Camaro owners, he only cares about ad revenue... It's running forum software that was discontinued in 2009... (vBulletin 3.xx)
