I never got a response from ZL1 Addons to this question.
I noticed that ZL1 permanent ones have a white plastic piece in the bottom and the generic ones do not.
The generic ones appear deeper, too.
Is the actual load point the vertical pinch weld? If yes, then the lifting pad MUST come in contact with that surface and then secure the pads.
If you use the pads that are too deep, then you are relying on the set screw to do the supporting.
Install note, on a 1LE, it seems the side skirt obstructs the front lifting points, especially when trying to turn the set screw.
As for the set screw, I think they made them too short when fully set. Not much thread contact in the pad.
I took mine off this weekend and may have to customize them. They were off Amazon and not ZL! Addons.
