While just a basic RS, I remember seeing essentially the stock airbox on a Hennessy model with a cutout. I also read somewhere on Overkill’s website that if you could capture air coming up from the lower grill up the liner it helps as well.
With that, I never saw the need for an aftermarket intake (except for the tube) so I cut the bottom up, added some plastic to act as air scoops, and dropped in a green filter with a Velossatech big mouth in the front. And it’s the bottom so who cares what it looks like.
Haven’t had any issues and the performance is definitely there. I took it even a step further and essentially dei gold wrapped everything from the box to the manifold. IAT matches ambient air even after hours of driving.
