I finally drove one last winter and was underwhelmed; it didn't sound good (fake engine noise was disabled), the throttle and clutch feel wasn't good, and the turn signal implementation drove me nuts. The shift throw was also very short for my taste. I test drove a Camaro 20 mins after the gr86 and ended up buying that same car a week later.

I've heard the throttle mapping is different on the brz (less sensitive), which would be an improvement.

I considered an elantra n, but the new facelift model wasn't out at the time. The old front bumper is hideous IMO. Also, I didn't want a fwd car as my weekend toy. I'll give it another look when it's time to replacey daily, but I have a feeling it will be too harsh for a daily.

Side note: Why don't people use the rear cubby, at the back of the center console, as a place to put your phone in the Camaro?
I never thought I would find a FWD car fun but the Elantra N is THAT fun. I have a Camaro as my weekend toy because V8 is still the most important thing to me.

To answer your question about the rear cubby, it’s because a modern phone doesn’t fit in it. In fact it was too small even when it came out in 2016.
