I've been speaking with a very reputable local tuner about this. He does nothing but LS and LT cars and has assured me to definitely go ahead with the ported LT2 along with the ported LT5. He's done several of them with positive results. I'm going to give it a shot. Worst case scenario, I can always go back to the stock intake and TB.
