I have tried Royal Purple 75w-90 gear oil with limited results (helped the cold shifting for a while but didn't last). So I tried Motul, Amsoil, Mobil 1, etc. No joy in Muddville.
So I keep seeing folks referencing Synchromax as a better choice BUT if you review it closely, Royal Purple's specs say it's a 10 weight oil "recommended for manual transmissions that specify an automatic transmission fluid or motor oil" (Summit Racing). Like my '86 Camaro manual trans- but not specified for 6th Gen Camaros! Some retailers are using "automotive transmission fluid" I believe to muddy the water (oops! a misprint- obviously...not).
Royal Purple also proudly displays "High Performance Manual Transmission Fluid" but it is ONLY in those vehicles that specify they can use A(utomatic)TF.
Am I wrong about this??
Thanks in advance for your opinions, facts , or ideas.

Have you tried using Redline D4 ATF? I've been using it the last couple of years and have had good experience with it. I change it every 20-30k miles.
With the OEM fluid, if I left the car parked outside overnight in the winter, I had a really hard time getting it into 1st in the morning. No problems with the Redline fluid. I'm talking 30-40F here in Texas.
