I do not have any personal experience with this issue, but GM was forced to use the larger 13.6 disc on any V8 Camaro (1LE& Zl1's excluded) from 2020 up. They also started to use low copper content brake pads that required the larger discs to make up for their lost "bite" and match the braking performance on earlier cars.
Therefore, I imagine if you replace those OE pads with performance pads you could achieve higher brake performance than earlier 4 piston Brembo's. Perhaps you could suffice with upgraded pads while saving up for 6 piston set up.
