Well, around the world a LOT of people do watch F1. And now you do know at least one person that watches F1 and that one person knows people that travel to see F1 races. It's kind of like the people on here and other places "no one wants an EV", yet the number one selling car in the world last year was.............an EV.
NASCAR viewership is less than half of its peak from nearly 20 years ago. Here is Daytona viewership the last 50 years and it's not looking good.

I'm sure the money is still there, as someone bought a team charter for $40,000,000 so it's certainly far from dead. It's just not growing and has no real path to get back to the Daryl, Dale, Jimmie and Jeff days. The car GM will race next year is no longer in production.
