Time will tell for the enthusiasts and Pickup Truck buyers though. (especially the truck owners that tow). As far as the Challenger goes seems like Dodge is fast tracking the ICE model although it won't be a V8 but the Hurricane. I doubt GM will go a Twin Turbo 6 if they bring back an ICE Camaro but maybe a V8 hybrid like the E-Ray but that is wishful thinking on my part. GM is sticking to V8s then going the TT V6/I6 route although they do have an I4 TT in the Silverado.
You are correct. That would be a plus for people who cannot plug in at home. But for those who can, it only makes sense to do so since electricity is priced very low (in my case $0.17 / kWh off-peak). Then for long trips, instead of looking for DC fast chargers, which can get pricey, you can fill up at a gas station and let the ICE maintain the battery for the full drive. Then plug in to a Level 2 on the other end. My Equinox EV is delivering 3.5 miles/kWh, so at $0.17 / kWh, my fuel cost per mile is 4.86 cents. By comparison, the SRX that it replaced got about 18 mpg. At $3 gas that was costing me 17 cents per mile.

So with a REEV, you would want to top it off every night from home level 2 charging and then just not worry about it on long trips. Vehicle operates the same way whether the batteries are being charged from house electricity or gasoline.
