I know this is an old post but at this point it is well known that the stock seats on the lt1 are powered metal, and with an aftermarket cam with a higher lift they are well known to "chip" and drop into the motor. I went the extra mile and got Frankensteins stage "1.5" (although they were $3,300 heads. They installed ductile seats to correct the chipping issue, Inconel ex valves, .025 mill, and .700 springs, and ported ofc. It even says on the page (correcting the stock seat chipping issue)
