How did you guys determine that the battery was ready for retirement?

I have a battery tester and replaced the battery when its original 760 CCA dropped into the 440s after a little less than 5 years, even though the car still started every time (although the starter did run slower and struggled longer), I didn't notice electrical gremlins either. The new ACDelco I bought was in the upper 760s new, as expected.
