I didnt either till i got tired of cleaning the stock shifter every month or so from track driving and weekend drives. Overall it is definitely made the experience alot better than before.

I can definitely see an advantage to a heavier weight as far as feel goes. Would make a shift feel a little more effortless. Dip it in a composite of some kind to reduce temperature extremes and that'd be a nice shifter. Probably feels good as is, so long as temps are moderate. I do get a bit of sweaty palm when I'm driving aggressively, could also play out poorly trying to grab a stainless steel shifter knob. Had that issue with my '08 Mustang with a Hurst short throw. The ball was fairly small and was a plastic composite. A little palm moisture with an aggressive shift and a stiff gate was a missed gear. Though in the Vegas heat, it was less white knuckling and more lack of adequate air conditioning

LMAO! The company do have matte finishes i just chose it to match the interior and I do have a shifter hood for it that protects it from the sun and it keeps it warm. But it does feel as in because my cabin is usually cooler than outside temps due to the tint. My buddy has the hurst shift knob and seen mine and installed bought one and said its wayyyy better than hurst and alot heavier. The hurst one was too light for him but Ashiko one he bought was the perfect fit for him.
