What’s FAR more important is oil change frequency. Frankly the development of the “oil life monitor” in cars beginning in the early 1990s has falsely given the general public a false sense that it’s ok to let your oil change intervals go longer due to “better oil quality and better engine engineering, casting, machining, and assembly technology”……

That’s the BIGGEST load of garbage ever.

Change your oil every 3,000-5,000 miles and you won’t have coking issues. Catch can if you want, but not necessary.

Only buy cars where the previous owner was fastidious on the oil changes!
